Nobody Gonna Break Our Stride.

Justine

Times are a-changing

Hello, I'm Justine, Associate Editor for HealthLeaders Media (part of HCPro). Wooo!!!!
After two great interviews with the Marblehead-based company, they invited me yesterday to become a part of their team. I haven't been this excited, hopeful or optimistic about anything in a really long time. Everyone I've met there so far has been awesome - almost as soon as I walked into the building for the first time a couple of weeks ago, I felt comfortable. I was nervous, of course, as most people are in job interviews. But I didn't stumble on my words, I didn't forget to say or ask anything, and I felt good about it all as soon as I walked back to my car that afternoon.
I am afraid, however, of moving so far away from my western Massachusetts "comfort zone." About 95% of everyone I know lives in western or central Mass. I know it's really only about 2 to 3 hours away, but I've never lived more than an hour from here. I know I have to go, obviously because of the job, but also to grow. I think it's time.
I guess I need to find out who Justine Rae Murphy really is, behind the 30-year-old shadow of a western Mass life.
It's a great place to live and grow up, don't get me wrong. But what else is out there? I have to find out.

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'.
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'.

When Nate was a baby, I used to sing the following to him during diaper changes. Keep in mind this was only one verse. I believe I composed four.

Sometimes it's like rocks, and sometimes it's like soil.
The first couple days, it looked just like crude oil.
Now look at him struggle, and look at him toil.
Look at him gruntin' and strainin'.
Now he smells like a cheese that's been left out to spoil,
'cause the diaper needs a-changin'.

Oh, and congrats to you, Justine! Looks like you no longer have to put up with your former company's ... um ... well, see above.
