Nobody Gonna Break Our Stride.

The Dudes Dad

Troy Duffy announces Boondock Saints 2 to start shooting this summer.

Any fan of the Boondock Saints just screamed in excitement. How fitting that he makes this announcement on St. Patrick's Day. See his video announcement here.

If you have no idea what I am talking about then I suggest watching this movie immediately. This is easily one of my all time favorite movies and has a cult following that rivals any other movie. yes, even Rocky Horror.

really! Thanks for the heads up. Any thoughts on plot or how a sequel might hold up to the original? Given the marketing nightmare that was the original Boondock Saints, quality of the film notwithstanding, this could be very interesting.

Really the first film was difficult to market because it really did not fit into any niche. The speculation amongst the fans some of which have professed to know the basic outline oif the plot say that the story follows the trio to another city possibly Chicago and that Agent Smecker (Willam Defoe) is is helping helping them. My opinion is that they will not need aggressive marketing because of the cult status of the original. How many times have you recommended this movie?

I have recommended Boondock Saints to every one I have ever had a discussion with about movies. Word of mouth has made the original movie and I have a sneaky suspicion that the fans will make this movie a theatrical success. I could be wrong.

i think you're right - the word of mouth is definitely going to drive this into more theaters. I sincerely hope the sequel keeps us in our seats! If you see any buzz about this, please pass it on!

I definitely will. I love the first one so much I have a Boondocks Saints T-shirt, zippo, ashtray and flask. I am a bit of a fan. I am really looking forward to it. The whole cast is coming back and if it follows the story line I have been hearing it should be awesome.

I actually just saw the Boondock Saints the other night. I'd seen it years ago when it first came out, and I loved it. This second time around I liked it quite a bit, but found some of it a bit over the top. I guess that's the point, though, right?

Thanks for pointing this out.
