I'm headed back west for the weekend for my best friend's sister's wedding. Oddly, I can't wait to get back to a good ole-fashioned Western Massachusetts autumn. Don't get me wrong, I love the beach life and all, but nothing compares to the changing colors of leaves on the hundreds of trees that surround everything, or the crisp breeze that compliments a blue sky that's filled with nothing but sunshine, or picking pumpkins and apples on a Saturday afternoon.
I guess it's true: you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone.
Growing up, all I ever wanted to do was high-tail it out of Western Mass. Now, all I want to do is get back there, but just for this wonderful season. I'll be booking it back east at the first sign of snow.
