Postcard Express

A few weeks ago, Vanessa at Random Ramblings started a Postcard Round Robin on TSB, and a few bloggers started exchanging snail mail with each other. An hour from now EST (6pm 7/11), my client Del Padre Digital (www.delpadre.com ) will be shooting new footage at the 'emergency request' of their partner, Proficient Audio/SpeakerCraft in Riverside Calif., for their new product MODE for iPhone. I Need a Haven

Before I moved in with Archervision, I had my own little second-floor apartment in a two-family home, with a deck overlooking a park. I live in a vibrant, yet moderately economically depressed, area of Massachusetts, so the real estate is cherry if you do a little homework. When I Write the Book...

Did you pick a word to live by for 2008, in lieu of a resolution? If so, how are you doing with it? I've lapsed lately in paying close attention to my own word: power. I've done relatively well defining what power means and how I can apply it to my life, but I haven't been as diligent in reminding myself to incorporate those findings into the daily grind. It's Oscar Night! For me, that means two things: I'm looking forward to hours of snarky Red Carpet television and an excuse to eat snacks, and I'm also reflecting on my annual Oscar party, held last night. I'm in a Donkey Butt Rut

Heath Ledger

There's been a lot of talk in the blogosphere about actor Heath Ledger's passing yesterday.

While it seems many of us weren't necessarily huge fans and certainly didn't know Ledger personally, his death resonates with thirtysomethings and twentysomethings especially, who see his passing as tragic and a total loss of great, still burgeoning talent.

Power

This is my word for 2008: Power.

Not in the dictator-drunk-with-power kind of way, mind you, but in a strong, self-possessed, I-can-do-anything-and-I'll-do-it-with-bells-on-thank-you-very-much way.

I gave 'power' a test run today, and I'm convinced it was the way to go. I spoke at the Annual Western New England College Media Conference , as part of a panel of journalists.

Spit Out Your Words

I was in a local bagel shop trying to look professional while wolfing down a sesame with veggie cream cheese when I first heard about the 'Pick a Word for the New Year' phenomenon.

Kerstin , an interview subject for a freelance article I just finished for The Women's Times, told me about it while we talked about fitness, weight loss, and our hopes for 2008.
