Under their picture is a little link that says "add as friend." then a request will be sent to add you and you will be accepted (usually). You can set up an RSS to have your blog postings threaded. You can change the theme of your page in the settings area. you can create your css or use one of the available style sheets. there are discussion forums, etc. It's pretty easy for someone as savvy as your bad self!
