Nobody Gonna Break Our Stride.

What's the *worst* thing about being over 30?

Totally copying Darlene's idea here...

Anyway, for me, it's definitely the feeling that if I screw something up I can't just "try something else next year." I've had 4 or 5 careers already, which of course means I've done exactly 0 career advancement. (I'm a SAHD now, yay! Best boss ever!)

Anyway, I'm starting to realize that an entirely fresh college degree is probably out of the question, that my chances of doing anything entirely different get smaller every year.

And you guys?

for me it's gotta be lines, wrinkles and chin hairs and I am so not a vain person

Oh, yeah, I've got chin hairs aplenty. Husband usually notices before me when a new one sprouts and plucks it out with his fingers! I've always admired his ability to pluck chin hairs out with his fingers. At least he's still here. We don't kiss anymore. He complains about the stubble rash.

Now is about the time people start dying. It sucks.

yeah - I know what you mean. When a close friend's mum died a couple of months ago my other friend and I looked around and realised that we are the only ones with both of our parents out of our group. I really don't want to join 'that' club just yet.

I think the hardest thing about being over 30 for me is the 'ticking biological clock'. All my friends are popping sproglets out all over the shop and I still can't decide if I want them or not!

Having lost the remarkable ability to drink myself stupid, yet recover just hours later to be productive at work.

I don't think there is something that feels any different now that I'm 30 or I haven't noticed yet. I guess thing thing that's the worst is the stigma that people associate with it. Makes me crazy. I guess I feel a more sense of urgency to do things now too. Like time is running out.
