Nobody Gonna Break Our Stride.

The Dudes Dad

The movies we loved then but question now

We all have those movies that came out when we kids and did not know any better and then we go back in our 30's to re-watch them and wonder "Wht the hell was I thinking?

One that stands out for me is Can't buy me Love. It was one of Patrick Dempsey's early films. I loved it when I was younger but I can't even imagine watching it now. What are some of your?

I had totally forgotten about the Last Dragon. Such a horrendous movie that I loved as kid.

I still love Can't Buy Me Love! Haha!

Weird Science comes to mind as well.

Weird Science - YES!

Another one I can't quite explain my fascination with is "The People Under The Stairs". Weird

Ugh... admittedly Ice Pirates. I could not get enough of that movie when I was a kid. Now I can't stand it.

I have to say that I DID recently re-watch McDreamy in "Can't Buy Me Love" when I came across it on Bravo one Saturday afternoon. It was as good as I remember. "It's the African Anteater Ritual!"

That remains one of the best movie dance scenes ever. Right up there with Cameron Diaz's Baby Got Back tribute in Charlie's Angels

Three words.......Hawk The Slayer.

Actually I still kinda love it if I'm honest.

Add Krull to Hawk The Slayer.

"Valley Girl" is a movie I loved and watched many times after recording it on the VHS off a cable channel. I think I could watch it maybe once now but no more than that! Nicholas Cage has come a long way in acting skills.

Ummm, Xanadu was one for me. I used to watch this over and over. It had Olivia Newton John in it. I used to be totally crazy about it. I sat down with it as an adult and couldn't get through 30 minutes of it.

I actually own it. It's the Soundtrack by E.L.O. I love that band. These days I don;t actually watch it. I turn it on when I am making dinner or cleaning the house just for the music.
